Festival North

Running annually in August since 2015, Festival North is a vibrant classical and traditional music festival. The only such festival in the north of BC, Festival North provides opportunities for northerners to meet, learn together in workshops and masterclasses, and enjoy world class musicians, new compositions, chamber music masterworks, intimate recitals, and much more, in settings ranging from free, family-friendly outdoor spaces to more formal concert stages. With a firm belief that music should be inclusive, organizers and festival musicians alike value inclusivity, connection, and respect.

We respectfully acknowledge that our festival takes place on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T'enneh. We are so grateful to be here in this place. 

This year, we will be hosting 22 concerts, workshops and events in Prince George, BC,  between August 3 and 8, and then bringing events to Quesnel, Williams Lake and Mackenzie between August 9 and 11.

Music can express who we are, and a festival right here in the north allows us to all deepen our appreciation for who we are as a community. Festival North is constantly exploring what is possible for arts in the north, and is especially proud to primarily feature performers from our own region and our guest musicians who share a professional or personal connection to northern BC. We love the north!
